Summary:
Formex Swiss Made Watches unveils their new Essence ThirtyNine Automatic Chronometer watch. While the original Essence has been Formex’s bestselling model in the brand’s 20-year history, many in the watch community were cheering the brand on to make it just a tiny bit smaller. Formex listened and now launches a smaller, 39 mm version. The ThirtyNine comes with the same detailed case finishing as the original model, features an officially COSC-certified mechanical Swiss caliber and unique features that make it even more comfortable on the wrist. The new collection is now available for limited pre-order starting at $1,280.00 with delivery by February 2021.

ThirtyNine… because size does matter (at least sometimes…)
The new ThirtyNine might be smaller in dimension but comes with the same detailed finishing as the original Essence. The brush finish on both case and bezel are perfectly rounded off with hand-finished mirror polished bevels. These polished chamfers can be found throughout the watch; on the machined indexes, the hands, the stainless-steel bracelet and the buckle of the new deployant clasp.
The horizontal lines on the dial are one of the watch’s most defining features. To achieve the crisp lines and sharp angles, each line has been CNC machined into the dial individually. Driving the hands is a Swiss Made Sellita SW200-1 self-winding movement with a power reserve of 42 hours. We’ve chosen its highest quality grade “Chronometer” because it comes with premium components such as a Glucydur balance wheel which is exceptionally hard and stable, very resistant to deformation, non-magnetic, and non-corrosive. The movement is completely decorated, has thermally blued screws and is wound by Formex’s custom-built skeletonized rotor. Each one of these movements is certified by the COSC (the official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute) and undergoes the meticulous 15-day rate test to ensure extraordinary levels of mechanical accuracy and precision.
Besides contributing to visual appeal, the details on the Essence ThirtyNine also serve a purpose. For a timepiece to be a watch for all occasions, it needs to feel exceptionally comfortable on the wrist. For even more wrist comfort, Formex added their patented Carbon Fiber Composite Folding Clasp with it’s fine-adjustment system, allowing on the go strap adjustment for a perfect fit in all conditions and temperatures. The leather strap can be changed without the use of any tools and the extremely comfortable and well-built stainless-steel bracelet can be mounted on the watch in seconds. The bracelet features screwed links and a unique micro-extension system to match the comfort of the leather strap.
The Essence ThirtyNine Automatic Chronometer is available for pre-order at the Formex Online Boutique with 4 dial options on the stainless-steel bracelet and 4 leather straps. The collection is now available starting at $1,280.00 for limited pre-order and will be delivered in February 2021.

Formex CEO, Raphael Granito, said of the launch, …
“Since we launched the Essence collection, there’s hardly a day we wouldn’t reply to an inquiry if we planned this model in a smaller case. However, we didn’t just want to make it smaller, we wanted to make it better. We added the new logo icon and now match the color of the date wheel to the dial and increased the filling depth of the Super-LumiNova to ensure even better legibility at night. Also, we’ve experimented with different dial colors and just love the new green version. By popular demand, we now use the new deployant clasp with the patented gradual fine adjustment for the leather straps. In short, I believe that this is the ultimate high-end made watch for every day, luxurious yet comfortable and practical. “
